While I am not ready to give up my job, it would be nice to have the skills required to survive if you needed to. Many of these skills are not vigorously handed down to the next generation. One thing I admire most is that it requires the discipline of planning, making do, and avoiding excesses. There is a lack of spontaneity that I would surely miss though. For now, I can barely manage my garden. More power to you!
